An umbrella term, generally seen as inclusive of any [[Gender Variant]] self-identifying people.

Typically shortened to Trans or Trans*, which more or less solidifies that it is using the above definition.

Though definitions change over time. In the past, this was interpreted to mean, for example, someone who dresses and acts the part of a different gender than their birth sex, but does not have gender confirmation surgery (aka a sex change), at which point they become transsexual. So, depending on who you're dealing with they may be using that definition.
